How Our Care Plan Works

1. Find The Root Cause

We begin with a detailed consultation, examination, and X-rays when needed to understand exactly what is causing your pain or dysfunction. We will identify the underlying structural, muscular, and neurological issues affecting your health.

2. Restore Proper Movement With Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic adjustments restore proper spinal alignment and joint motion, reduce pressure on nerves, and help your body function the way it was designed to. When your spine and nervous system work properly, your body can heal and perform better.

3. Accelerate Healing With SoftWave TRT

SoftWave Therapy uses acoustic wave technology to improve circulation, activate healing cells, reduce inflammation, and repairs tissue. This therapy is helpful for chronic pain, soft tissue injuries, joint problems, and patients who feel like they’ve “tried everything.”

4. Relieve Pressure With Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression

For patients dealing with disc problems, sciatica, numbness, tingling, or chronic neck and back pain, spinal decompression gently stretches and unloads the spine. This can help reduce pressure on discs and nerves while promoting healing and function.

5. Help You Stay Healthy Long-Term

Our goal is not just temporary relief; we want to help you stay active and healthy long-term so you can continue doing the things you love with confidence.

What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression therapy works by gently stretching the spine to relieve pressure on the discs that cushion your vertebrae. When these discs are compressed or damaged, it can cause significant pain and limit movement. By carefully releasing that pressure, decompression encourages the flow of oxygen, water, and essential nutrients into the discs—helping them heal naturally.

Depending on your condition, Dr. Heiss, a trusted chiropractor in South Lincoln, may recommend spinal decompression as part of a personalized treatment plan.

Before beginning therapy, patients are thoroughly evaluated by Dr. Heiss. Digital X-rays or other diagnostic assessments may be performed to identify which spinal discs are affected and to create a treatment plan that delivers the best results.

Spinal decompression is often combined with gentle chiropractic adjustments to address both spinal alignment and disc health. This combination provides faster and longer-lasting relief compared to treating either issue alone.

During your session, you’ll lie comfortably on a special motorized decompression table. A harness gently secures your body while the table moves in a controlled pattern of stretching and relaxing. Most patients describe the experience as soothing and report no pain during or after treatment. Each session typically lasts about 15 minutes, and most care plans include around 24 sessions over 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the condition and response to care.

What Are The Common Conditions We Treat With Spinal Decompression?

Herniated Discs

When the inner portion of a spinal disc bulges out, it can press on nearby nerves, leading to pain, tingling, or weakness. Decompression helps relieve that pressure and promotes healing.

Bulging Discs

Decompression gently pulls the bulging portion of the disc back into place and restores healthy spacing between vertebrae.

Degenerative Disc Disease

As discs wear down over time, they lose height and flexibility. Spinal decompression encourages hydration and nutrient flow to restore strength and function.

Sciatica

If you feel pain that radiates from your lower back through your hips and legs, spinal decompression can relieve pressure on the sciatic nerve for lasting comfort.

Spinal Stenosis

When the spinal canal narrows, it can compress the nerves and cause pain or numbness. Decompression gently creates space, improving nerve function and mobility.

We started going to Heiss Chiropractic several 8/9 years ago after a car accident. Dr. Heiss cared for us after the accident then went above and beyond to help us navigate a unique situation with one of our children. He was an advocate and a voice for our child when ours weren't being heard and for that I will always be grateful! This office is unlike others in the sense that it is a professional but relaxed family atmosphere! Dr. Heiss has been outstanding with our whole family, Stacey is beaming ray of sunshine and an immense help, and Josi has been an absolute delight. We appreciate everything you have done for our family and continue to do for our family! Heiss Chiropractic is 6/5! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dr. Heiss and the staff at Heiss Chiropractic have immensely helped me get back to life after a lower back injury. Dr. Heiss listened to me explain my symptoms, x-rayed me, showed me how treatment would help, and came up with a treatment plan that included adjustments and SoftWave Therapy. The SoftWave Therapy has been a game-changer! It's incredible how much it's helped in conjunction with the adjustments. I'm now back to living life, working out and doing the things I love without worrying about pain. Thank you Dr. Heiss and the team!!!

I so highly recommend getting seen by Dr. Heiss. I went in at 40 weeks pregnant to ensure everything was in the correct alignment for birth. Dr. Heiss took his time to provide a safe adjustment for me. His gentle maneuvering put me in tip top shape for labor and delivery. I ended up having an extremely easy birth of my second child and like we joke now “the baby came out like butter” I really think it was because of seeing Dr. Heiss. The staff is wonderful! (I loved talking with Stacey!!) My experience was so great! If you’re on the fence about going—do it! You won’t regret a great adjustment whether you’re pregnant or not!!

Can’t recommend him enough! Everyone in the office is so friendly and professional. I was skeptical about whether or not this would truly help fix my back pain…I took a week and a half off in the middle of my treatment plan to go on vacation and really realized how much of a difference the regular adjustments were making in my back pain, level of comfort sitting/walking and how well I was sleeping at night. I’m truly a believer now!

We love our weekly visits with Dr. Heiss and Stacey! After being adjusted consistently, I can tell when I need an adjustment but more importantly when my 8 month old daughter needs an adjustment. We originally started her adjustments with Dr Heiss for her colic, sleep and overall health. After the first month and a half of being consistently adjusted, her fussiness from the colic significantly improved and she was not fighting sleep. Now she loves her sleep, she takes two hour naps and sleeps through the night. She is one happy and healthy baby! Thank you Lord for sending Dr. Heiss and Stacey into our lives!
